Mastropierro, Lucy
Lucy Mastropierro, a longtime resident of the area, who,
with her husband, owned and operated the Peach Grove Inn
in Warwick, died Saturday, July 15, 2006 at Our Lady of
Mercy Medical Center in the Bronx. She was 64.
The daughter of the late Joseph
and Josephine Gulfo Schettini, she was born on May 29, 1942
in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Lucy was a member of both the
Orange County and the Warwick Bed & Breakfast Associations,
the Warwick Chamber of Commerce and the Warwick Historical
Society. Together with John, she lovingly restored the Wheeler
home into the Peach Grove Inn as it is today. Lucy loved
Warwick, both the place and the people. It was home, and
it won't be the same without her.
Survivors include her husband
and best friend of 43 years, John Mastropierro and their
daughters, Anne Margaret Mastropierro of Mahwah, N.J., Teresa
Mastropierro of Brooklyn and Elizabeth Mastropierro of Richmond,
Va. She is also survived by her brother, Vincent Schettini
of Staten Island, N.Y.; and 11 nieces and nephews.
Lucy put a tremendous amount
of love into her family and home and she always put others'
needs before her own. She lived her life with a lot of integrity
and thoughtfulness. We will miss her very much.
Family and friends may visit
from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, July 20 at her home,
the Peach Grove Inn, 205 Route 17A in Warwick.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated
Friday July 21 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Stephen's RC Church,
Warwick.
Burial will be in St. Stephens
Cemetery, Warwick.
