MYSTERY PHOTO-LOCATION ?????

I bought this postcard a while ago from Ebay and cannot place the location. It is dated 1909 and says on the top: The Notch, near Bellvale, NY

I have had a number of different opinions about this photo.
So far most of the guesses have been that it is a view along Bellvale Lakes Road showing Sugar Loaf in the background. One person who has lived in the area all his life thinks it might be of the view as you go up 17 A looking to the right it would be of Cascade Road. If anyone knows anything more about it please send in your ideas. Please notice that there is a stream in the photo.
