May 19-22 This was a really cold weekend here! On Sunday it was spitting snow late in the afternoon as well as briefly early Monday morning. Thank goodness I had not planted any tender annuals yet. We cleaned up more around the house and Karl got to use the new power washer we bought. The house looked much better with some of the peeling paint removed.

May 25-30 Memorial Day Weekend Karl took off two vacation days, Thursday and part of Tuesday. I cut the grass on Thursday while Karl worked on getting some privacy walls up in the bathroom to be. Friday was more planting, cleaning and plumbing work. Saturday young Karl came up and they cut down some of the trees that were starting to block the nice view of Poolville Lake. We also worked on getting the boards and beams out of the kitchen to open up the space more.

Sunday we had company join us and we all had a nice time sitting around a good sized bonfire. It was a late night for most of us. I guess you could call it a "wild turkey night" and no, I don't mean the booze called WILD TURKEY. You had to be there to understand this joke!

Karl fell asleep by the fire and as the saying goes "let sleeping bodies lie" , I let Karl sleep in his chair until 8:00 AM.

Monday, after a great breakfast that Eric and Elyse made for us all, the boys felt strong enough to help take down one of the big beams in the kitchen. Thanks for the breakfast and the help, Eric, Elyse and John!!!
