Hamilton House-page

Me decorating with a couple of
the pieces I bought at an auction I went to.
Karl was busy outside working on the roof of the existing
barn and the roof of the barn we had knocked down earlier
in the year.

This
is the handy attachment Karl made for his backhoe-so he
can pick up long beams. It was part of an old fork lift.

This
is me steaming off 14 layers of wallpaper to see what the
first one looked like as well as finding the original paint
color. The one I'm holding up was the last one applied (most
recent). I had no idea there would be so many layers-but
it was fun to do. The original paint color on the wainscoting
was a deep rusty red. I have my jacket on because it was
pretty chilly in the house!

Here is the main
part of the house pretty much opened up! Ah, the beauty
of post and beam construction. We are going to relocate
the stairway and then start ripping up the floor boards
so we can replace the floor joists that all need to be redone.
